Last time I took a look at Daredevil and why he was trash. I didn't know so many people agreed. This time I'd like to take a look Frank Castle, better known as The Punisher. Frank was a marine for years. One day on a picnic with his family they saw a mob execution. In order to silence witnesses the mobsters shot at Frank and his family killing them, but Frank lived. Frank set out for revenge, becoming The Punisher and trash hero.

- Obviously just enjoys killing and "punishing" people
- He's in the game just for revenge
- He got his revenge and he's still in the game
- Even Peter Parker dislikes him
- He took his talents to LA when nobody asked him to
- He was a villain, now he's just a guy who kills people
- HE PUNCHED A POLAR BEAR
- He killed a man who caused and accidental death
- Captain America thinks he's insane
- He shot an innocent man and Daredevil was forced to save the guy while Frank kept shooting
- All of his movies are horrible. Don't argue, just accept it. Straight violence, minimum story
- He's so overly violent it's comical at times. You can't throw a woman through bullet proof glass
- 48,502 people he has killed. More than the number of soldiers in most counties
- He tried to kill Spider-Man IN TWO DIFFERENT UNIVERSES
- He doesn't care about making the world a better place, just likes shooting people
- He fights regular criminals that are highly unlikely to escape prison but kills them anyway
- Killing mob bosses just makes new mob bosses
- He's been trying to fill the hole in his heart with dead bodies for decades, get a hobby dude
- Thinks he's above the law for some reason
- Stilt man became a hero because he was a bad villain and still got shot in the face

Eh. Frank Castle. Dexter Morgan. Same difference.
ReplyDeleteThe Punisher is the ultimate white male fantasy. I make and break whatever rules I want. I kill whoever, whenever I want. My insecurity justifies my access to the biggest guns and most dangerous weapons I can get my hands on and I am never accountable for my actions because "I" believe that I am a "good" guy...which of course is all that matters.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot...I am so badass that I dont feel pain, emotions, or fear. The sign of a "real" man. LOL
ReplyDeleteHe's the impossible white man of comics. His super powers are being impossible and white lol
DeleteAll the stories 'about the Punisher' are about his affect on others and those individuals. So if the character can't have a story that is about him and who he is as a person etc. (other than harkening back to the origin story and pre-punisher days) then in my book he's worthless.
